This place was popular and for good reason. We were lucky enough to get a seat without a wait and had great service. We started with the Monkey Brains that we saw a review about. It was okay, just not for me. We then demolished a Camano roll. That was delicious! I’d get that again, I really liked the taste of the scallops on them. We finished off the meal with a chicken yakisoba. I couldn’t stop eating it. Well worth the trip off the freeway for some excellent food.

What a delightful experience we've had every time we've been here. The food is exceptionally good. The service is always friendly. And I've never had to wait for a table. Make sure to get the sashimi. The cuts are HUGE and well worth the $.

Shima is our favorite restaurant in the area, bar none. Great Japanese cuisine. A wide variety of delicious sushi rolls, and tempura that is so light and fresh it is my wife’s go to favorite choice when we dine there. The sashimi is magnificent; it absolutely melts in your mouth and is easily as good as any I have enjoyed in Tokyo. Portions are so generous at Shima that we often order an extra serving of nabeyaki udon to bring home and share for lunch the next day. Don’t miss Shima if you are in Stanwood or passing through on the way to Camano Island.

Had a wonderful dinner at Shima. The sushi was fresh, delicious and came out fast. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. The seating was well spaced but limited to first come, first served so be ready for a wait if you arrive at a busier time. It is very much worth the wait.

Thank you for graciously taking our takeout order when we arrived at 7:47 pm! It was our first family reunion meal since 2019. I hadn't seen my son since May. We were able to enjoy the most delicious dinner together over wine at our Camano Island VRBO. Especially enjoyed flavorful agadashi, , , !!! Loved negihama.

Food was good, but everything was filthy. Floors covered in food debris, tables sticky, bathroom had a definite "odor" usually reserved for homeless people in an alley. Service was pretty good. Hopefully they clean the kitchen occasionally.

Shima Japanese Restaurant was a nice stop! We had the Volcano Roll and the Lion King Roll—both were fresh and flavorful. The staff was kind, and the vibe was relaxed. Great spot for sushi lovers.

I love stopping here, Calamari is the full length type with light tempura & light dipping sauce. Bento & full dinner serving sizes are surprisingly large. Very tasty sushi rolls with fresh fish. Both Sapporo & Asahi beers + craft selections. Very nice service, excellent staff.
